(...tell me if you don't think this should be "surreal.")
My submission to my own Inspiration Challenge (learn more here).
This landscape-ish picture features several items and subjects that inspire me (see the list below). As a part of my Challenge, I've displayed these inspirations through a medium I wanted to improve on; a medium of art that I'm not all that familiar with -- believe it or not, colour. (Yup, it's that simple. Colour.) (Note: if you want to enter the Challenge, you need only visually display one inspiration of yours, however, it's up to you how many you actually show the community. As well, your new medium doesn't have to be extremely distant from what your used to, though it can be if you're willing to explore.)
My inspiration shown in this drawing (from top to bottom, left to right): -clouds -sunsets (or sunrises) -landscapes -forests -water (and waterfalls) -music -fire -movement (flowing water) -nature (animals)

Drawn and coloured over a period of over a week, for the most part. Ideas have been flowing for longer than that, however.
Lovely picture. I love the whole mood and atmosphere of it. Only thing I'm iffy on is the sky. I think you should have made it blend more? I don't know how to describe it since I suck. But I feel like the pink shade switches to blue all of a sudden, maybe try working on that some more? Again, lovely picture. ME=FAIL AT CRITIQUE.
You don't fail. xD I was trying as hard as I could to blend that somehow, but coloured pencils DON'T BLEND FOR FUdgecakes! (...yes. Fudgecakes.) Maybe I should have tried some purple-pink to make it more gradient-y. :\ Thank you for the critique. (:
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
